DHAKA, Jan 16, 2026 (BSS) - The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 49 people in the last 24 hours during Operation Devil Hunt Phase-2, conducted across four police station areas of the capital-Mugda, Jatrabari, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar and Rupnagar.
Muhammad Talebur Rahman, Deputy Police Commissioner, Media and Public Relations Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the arrests.
Mugda Police Station arrested the highest number with 18 arrests, followed by Rupnagar Police Station with 14, Jatrabari Police Station with 13, and Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station with four arrests.
The operations were carried out on Thursday in various crime-prone areas under the respective police stations.
The arrested individuals are accused of involvement in various criminal activities.
Following their arrest, all suspects were produced before the court, police officials said.
DMP stated that Operation Devil Hunt Phase-2 will continue as part of its ongoing efforts to curb crime and ensure public safety in the capital.
