DHAKA, Jan 15, 2026 (BSS) - A training and briefing meeting was held today at the Youth and Sports Ministry to raise public awareness ahead of the referendum.
Organised under the banner "Referendum 2026" at the ministry's conference room, the meeting focused on preparations to incorporate the July National Charter into the Constitution as part of state structure reforms and mobilize public support for the upcoming referendum.
Participants were informed that the current interim government is working with three core mandates-reform, justice and elections.
The historic July National Charter has been prepared based on recommendations of reform commissions and consensus among political parties.
The referendum will be held alongside the next national election to permanently include the Charter in the Constitution.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the Ministry of Cultural Affairs have prepared video clips to campaign for a "Yes" vote.
The meeting decided to utilize the Youth and Sports Ministry's extensive grassroots network to reach citizens across the country.
Officials and employees of all departments under the ministry were urged to convey the importance of the referendum and the key proposals of the July Charter to the people from their respective positions.
Senior officials of the Youth and Sports Ministry and its affiliated departments attended the meeting, where technical and promotional aspects of the referendum were discussed and necessary guidelines provided.
