DHAKA, Dec 19, 2025 (BSS) - The leaders of Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) today submitted a memorandum to the home adviser of the interim government demanding the immediate arrest and exemplary trial of those involved in the killing of martyr Sharif Osman Bin Hadi and ensuring security for participants of the July Uprising.
JCD President Md Rakibul Islam Rakib and its General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir submitted the memorandum to the home adviser this afternoon.
JCD leaders, in the memorandum, said Shaheed Osman Bin Hadi was an uncompromising young leader and a pioneer of the anti-fascist cultural movement.
They described his killing not merely as a loss of life, but as a horrific example of silencing anti-fascist voices, posing a grave threat to democratic movements and freedom of expression.
Regarding this, JCD placed four specific demands in the memorandum as immediate identification, arrest and trial of those involved in the killing, including the planners and instigators, ensuring an impartial investigation to examine the conspiracy behind the murder and any related negligence, taking effective state measures to ensure the security of all political, social and cultural activists involved in the anti-fascist movement and mass uprising, and enhancing the accountability and capacity of intelligence and law enforcement agencies to prevent such political killings in the future.
"Ensuring the rule of law and citizen security is a fundamental responsibility of the state," the leaders said, adding that prompt implementation of these demands would be the true way to honour the sacrifice of Shaheed Hadi and restore public confidence.
