DHAKA, Dec 19, 2025 (BSS) - The Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of July fighter and Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi.

In a statement, DRU leaders conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members, friends and countless supporters of Hadi.

The DRU leaders strongly demanded the immediate arrest of those responsible for the killing, including the perpetrators and their masterminds, and called for bringing them to justice at the earliest.

Describing Osman Hadi as a true patriot and a July fighter, the DRU leaders said he was an anti-imperialist revolutionary martyr. 

Osman Hadi died around 9.45 pm yesterday (December 18) while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Singapore.

Earlier on December 12, Hadi sustained a critical head injury after being shot by assailants while campaigning at Culvert Road area in Bijoy Nagar here after Jumu'ah prayers.
