DHAKA, Dec 01, 2025 (BSS) – A colorful victory rally was brought out on the Dhaka University (DU) campus today to celebrate the great Victory Day.
DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan led the rally, which started from Aparajeyo Bangla at 9 am, paraded different streets of the campus, and ended at Smriti Chirantan Chattar.
Earlier, teachers, students, officials, and employees gathered at the foot of Aparajeyo Bangla at 8:45 am.
Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Saima Haque Bidisha, Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Mamun Ahmed, Treasurer Professor Dr. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Proctor Professor Saifuddin Ahmed, Acting Registrar Munshi Shams Uddin Ahmed, DUCSU General Secretary SM Farhad, along with senate and syndicate members, deans of various faculties, departmental chairmen, institute directors, provosts, and many teachers, officials, and employees participated in the rally.
The programme concluded with the performance of patriotic songs on the Liberation War and Victory Day, under the supervision of the university’s Music Department at Smriti Chirantan Chattar.
At the end of the rally, VC Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan said, “December is a unique milestone in the identity of our nation. In this month of 1971, our nation achieved the final victory through the courageous decision to stand firm. We remember with deep respect the martyred intellectuals of December 14, whose blood strengthened the foundation of our independence.”
He added, “This nation always knows how to unite in times of need. Regardless of race, religion or caste, we stand together in times of national crisis. I pray that this month of victory further strengthens our spirit of unity.”
