DHAKA, Nov 29, 2025 (BSS) - The Potato Festival 2025 is set to begin at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB), Dhaka on December 12, 2025.
Mostofa Azad Chowdhury Babu, President of the Bangladesh Cold Storage Association (BCSA) came up with the information at a programme titled “Potato Festival 2025 ---- Meet The Press” held at the BCSA office in the capital today.
Guests present at the press meet included BCSA Senior Vice President Eshtiaque Ahmed, its Vice President Mohammed Younus and Managing Director of Postmaster Communication FaizulAlam along with other leaders of the Association, said a press release.
Mostofa Azad said the festival will play a crucial role in introducing Bangladesh’s potato industry to the global arena, showcasing modern technologies, and expanding both local and international investment and export opportunities.
He highlighted the diversified use of potato, export potential and its strategic planning, modern preservation technologies, and the expansion of the potato processing industry in Bangladesh.
Speakers at the event stated that although Bangladesh ranks 7th in the world and 3rd in Asia in potato production, the country is yet to fully utilise its true potential due to the lack of adequate modern storage systems, processing technologies, and export-friendly infrastructure.
However, the international exhibition will feature participation from hundreds of domestic and foreign organisations involved in potato production, storage, processing, value addition, export, cold-chain technology, agricultural machinery, food innovation, and culinary arts.
