DHAKA, Nov 26, 2025 (BSS) - The Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) has honoured 29 of its member writers this year in recognition of their contributions to literature and to encourage continued literary practice.

The reception ceremony was held at the Shafiqul Kabir Auditorium at DRU. Professor Dr. Muhammad Asaduzzaman, Director of the International Mother Language Institute, attended as the chief guest and presented the award recipients with cash prizes, crests and certificates.

DRU General Secretary delivered the welcome speech, while Publicity and Publication Secretary Mizan Chowdhury conducted the event. DRU President Abu Saleh Akon presided over the ceremony.

Among others, DRU Joint Secretary Nadia Sharmin, Finance Secretary Shakawat Hossain Sumon, Women Affairs Secretary Rozina Rozi, Sports Secretary M. Mozibur Rahman and Executive Members Aminul Huq Bhuiyan and Suman Chowdhury were present.

The award recipients in literature are Rakibul Islam Mukul, Amirul Momenin Manik, Jahirul Islam, Faruque Khan, Zamshed Nazim and Mujtahid Faruqui.

The recipients in poems and rhymes are Hasan Hafiz, Muhammad Abdul Baten, Salam Faruq, Atika Rahman and M. Mamun Hossen.

The awardees in articles and research are Asif Hasan, Helimul Alam, Abu Ali, Tarun Sarker, Muhammad Nur-e Alam, Abu Sufian, Maidur Rahman Rubel, Moniruzzaman Ujjal, Mehedi Hasan Dalim, Mesbah Shimul, Pronab Majumder, Ibrahim Khalil, Mohammad Nurul Islam, Manik Muntasir, Shamsuzzaman Shams, Ahammad Fayez and Rafiqul Islam Ratan.
