DHAKA, Nov 22, 2025 (BSS) - Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan today accorded a reception to the gallantry award holders valiant freedom fighters (FFs) of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF), heroic members of 'Kilo Flight' and their successors at BAF Shaheen Hall in the city's Tejgaon area.

In recognition of their supreme sacrifices and contribution to the country and nation, the reception was organised marking the Armed Forces Day 2025, said a release of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate here this evening.

A total of 34 valiant freedom fighters, Kilo Flight' members and their successors were present.

On the occasion, the BAF chief exchanged greetings with the valiant FFs, 'Kilo Flight' members or their successors. 

Referring to their (FFs) contributions in the War of Liberation, he said the Bangladesh Air Force, which was born with only three aircraft on the battlefield in 1971, is now equipped with sophisticated fighter aircrafts, transport aircrafts, helicopters, various types of radars, missiles and even overhauling technologies, it said. 

A number of projects have been undertaken to increase operational and administrative capacity and several projects have been successfully implemented, the release mentioned. 

Hasan Mahmood Khan said the sacrifice and contribution of valiant freedom fighters and the members of Kilo Flight have become the source of inspiration for all BAF members.

Principal Staff Officers (PSOs), senior officers and airmen of different BAF bases were present on the occasion, the ISPR added.
