DHAKA, Nov 19, 2025 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested two suspected criminals, including an accused in the killing of Jubo Dal leader Golam Kibria in the capital's Pallabi area.
The detainees are Monir Hossain Shohel, known as Pata Shohel, 30, and Md Sujon, alias Bukpora Sujon, 35, confirmed RAB-4 Commander Lieutenant Colonel Md Mahbub Alam.
Speaking at a press briefing at the RAB media centre in Karwan Bazar today, he said a team of RAB-4 conducted a raid in the Birulia area under Savar Police Station and arrested Shohel on Monday night. Sujon was picked up from the Mazar Slum area under Tongi West Police Station.
Alam said RAB had been carrying out a shadow investigation into the killing based on CCTV footage collected from the crime scene.
On November 17, six unidentified assailants shot dead Golam Kibria, member secretary of the Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal's Pallabi thana unit, inside a hardware shop in Block C of Pallabi.
While fleeing, the attackers also fired on locals, leaving a rickshaw-puller seriously injured. Locals later caught one suspect, Jony Bhuiyan, and handed him over to police.
Kibria's family filed a case with Pallabi Police Station against five named and seven to eight unnamed suspects.
The two arrestees have been handed over to police for further legal action, the RAB official added.
