DHAKA, Nov 18, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Juba Dal President Abdul Monaem Munna today said that politics must be conducted by prioritizing the people.

He said, "BNP's Acting Chairman Tareque Rahman is repeatedly saying that we must conduct our politics by staying close to the people, by standing beside them and by prioritizing them."

Munna made these remarks as the chief guest at an exchange of views meeting titled 'What Juba Dal Should Do to Make the Dhaner Shish Candidates Victorious' at the Institution of Diploma Engineers in Kakrail of the city. Dhaka South Mohanagar unit organized the meeting.

Addressing the party leaders and activists, Munna said, "I have one request for you; we must go door-to-door to the people during the election. Therefore, whoever has been nominated as the candidate, Juba Dal must work for them in the election."

He also commented that the murder of Golam Kibria, member secretary of the Pallabi Thana Juba Dal in the capital yesterday, was not an isolated incident.

Condemning the killing, the Juba Dal President said, "Golam Kibria was brutally murdered. He was hit by more than 10 bullets. I demand the arrest of the perpetrators of this brutal murder. I urge the police administration to immediately analyze the CCTV footage and arrest the killers."

"This murder is not an isolated incident. Those who want to delay the election or obstruct it are employing various strategic tactics to prevent an election in Bangladesh. It is to the advantage of the side that cannot come to state power through votes if an election does not take place," he added.

Urging maintaining discipline and national stability, he further added, "The people who have been planning for a long time to turn Bangladesh into a dysfunctional state are still close by."

"Since August 5, 2024, until the announcement of candidates for the election, we have penalized 202 members of Juba Dal.

How did we do it? We took disciplinary action in the interest of maintaining party discipline," he added.

Following the meeting, party activists held a protest rally against the murder of the Juba Dal leader. The procession started from Kakrail and concluded in front of the party office in Paltan.
