DHAKA, Nov 10, 2025 (BSS) – The National Human Rights Commission Officers Association (NHRCOA) has welcomed the ‘National Human Rights Commission Ordinance, 2025,’ which was enacted to make the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) more effective and dynamic.

The association also expressed its sincere gratitude to the interim government for this timely and much-awaited reform, said a press release received here today.

It said, “The association believes that the enactment of the ‘National Human Rights Commission Ordinance, 2025,’ is a timely and groundbreaking step towards implementing the commitment to human rights protection and development in line with the current interim government's ongoing state reform initiatives. The association sincerely thanks the interim government and all concerned for this long-awaited reform.”

It stated that the association believes the newly enacted ordinance will enable the commission to fulfill public expectations by playing a more active and stronger role in protecting human rights.

The association also expressed its gratitude to the government for including provisions in the ordinance to safeguard the rights of NHRC officers and employees, who had long been deprived of various government facilities.

In addition, it urged the authorities to issue a government gazette notification immediately to implement sub-section (3) of section 28 regarding the facilities of the commission’s officers and employees.

Furthermore, under the leadership of the incoming commission, the National Human Rights Commission Officers Association reiterated its commitment to continue its overall activities for the protection and promotion of human rights with professionalism and dedication.
