DHAKA, Nov 09, 2025(BSS) - The 189th public hearing of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on 118 allegations against 42 government offices of Panchagar district was held at Panchagar Government College auditorium here today.
Commissioner (Investigation) of the anti-graft body Miah Muhammad Ali Akbar Azizi was present at the public hearing as the chief guest while Director General (Investigation) Md Akhter Hossain was present as special guest, according to an official release here.
The ACC Commissioner in his speech said that moral values should be upheld and no one should give lease his or her conscience to anyone.
No one should be deprived of his or her rights for personal gain, he said adding that transparency should be ensured in rendering government services to the people.
The ACC DG Akhter Hossain urged the government officials to think hundred times before committing any corruption and alerted their dire consequences if any case lodged against them for crimes.
Chaired by Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Panchagar Md Sabet Ali, among others, Superintendent of Police (SP) Panchagar Md Mizanur Rahman Munshi, President of Panchagar Anti-Corruption Committee Dr Md Khalid Tawhid and ACC Rangpur regional director Md Nurul Huda were present at the hearing.
Over 200 allegations against 42 government, semi-government and autonomous organizations were submitted for the public hearing.
A total of 118 allegations under ACC schedule were tabled for today’s hearing, of which the commission decided to investigate into two allegations.
The commission’s high officials also suspended two primary school headmasters and two teachers of the secondary schools immediately for taking bribes.
The rest allegations were vested to the respected offices and the district administration for immediate disposal. This was the biggest public hearing of the commission so far.
