CHATTOGRAM, Nov 5, 2025 (BSS) - BNP standing committee member and former minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury today said the party will create employment opportunities for one crore youths if it wins the upcoming national elections slated for February 2026.

Detailed plans have been developed based on the Gen-Z concept to determine the number of jobs that will be generated in different sectors, the senior BNP leader told a seminar titled "My First Vote and Future Bangladesh" hosted by the private university branch of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal at the July Smriti Memorial Hall of the Chattogram Press Club.

Addressing the programme as the chief guest, Amir Khasru said BNP is focused on generating employment opportunities in Bangladesh by equipping the youth with skills in different sectors.

He said the country's economy could flourish by enhancing the skills of people engaged in cottage industries, particularly blacksmiths, theater professionals and sports enthusiasts in rural Bangladesh.

Noting that around two lakh children in Bangladesh are engaged in freelancing, utilizing platforms like PayPal, he said, "This will accelerate our economy. If the BNP comes to power, it will prioritize the information technology sector and facilitate investments to further boost the country's economy with the participation of all Bangladeshis."

Amir Khasru, stressed the importance of having a goal to achieve the nation's dreams.

"President Ziaur Rahman showed us how to turn dreams into reality. To progress, we need to engage in responsible and accountable politics. It's time to move away from outdated political practices," he added.

"During the last 15 years of autocratic rule, there was no democracy in the country. The government looted the country and destroyed all sectors of the economy. To strengthen the economy, we must follow a micro model. Tarique Rahman has a plan to plant 25 crore trees and dig 20,000 canals to improve the environment," Khasru continued.

Addressing the seminar, BNP assistant organizing secretary Barrister Mir Helal Uddin Chowdhury said no one could vote in the past 15 years. The upcoming election in February will determine the future of Bangladesh.

BNP national executive committee member Justice Faisal Mahmud Foizee, President of Private University Chhatra Dal Md. Abu Horaira, BNP leaders Hummam Quader Chowdhury and Israfil Khasru Chowdhury, among others, addressed the function.
