Election should be held in early February: Amir Khasru

RAJSHAHI, Nov 1, 2025 (BSS)- BNP standing committee member and former minister of commerce Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury today said the upcoming national election should be held in early February.

He, however, blamed that a conspirators circle has been intending to delay the election. All of the peace-loving people should raise their voices to foil the deep-rooted conspiracy.

The BNP leader came up with the observation while addressing a Rajshahi Divisional Business Conference at Zila Parishad Auditorium here as the chief guest.

With former president of Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Lutfor Rahman in the chair, the meeting was addressed, among others, by former Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation Mijanur Rahman Minu and President of Chapainawabganj Chamber of Commerce and Industry Abdul Wahed.

Large number of business leaders from all eight districts under the division joined the meeting.

Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury said if voted to power BNP will ensure primary treatment free of cost and it's BNP's commitment.

"We will enhance competence not only in division but also in all districts," Mahmud said, adding that they will generate more job and employment opportunities.

"We want to bring a big change in the economy and we will come out from the outdated idea in this field," he added.
 
The former commerce minister said BNP will initiate democracy in the economy so that all citizens can get equal scope and participation.

He said the government officials will come out of control through deregulation. "We have a plan for creating job scopes of one crore within the first 18 months and we will project the number of people to get jobs in what sector," he added.

"We have to come out from the Dhaka centric developments and to empower all regions equally for balanced development of the country," Mahmud opined.

He hoped that all the people will be linked with economic activities for the country's overall development in the upcoming days.
