8 foreign pistols, explosives recovered from Airport Railway Station

DHAKA, Oct 26, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Army, during a special drive, recovered eight foreign-made pistols and explosives from the Airport Railway Station here this morning.

A release issued by the Inter Services Public Relation Directorate (ISPR) confirmed the matter today.

"Bangladesh Army, with assistance from intelligence agencies and Railway Police, conducted a special drive at the Airport Railway Station based on specific information around 11:15 am today," the release said.

During the drive, army personnel recovered eight foreign pistols, 16 magazines, 26 rounds of ammunition, 2.39 kg of gunpowder, and 2.23 kg of plastic explosives after searching a compartment of the Banolata Express train that had departed from Rajshahi, it added.

Four suspects were detained and handed over to the police for primary interrogation.

The Bangladesh Army will continue such coordinated drives in the future against terrorism, sabotage, and criminal activities, the release added.
