DHAKA, Oct 14, 2025 (BSS) - Danish Ambassador to Bangladesh Christian Brix Moller paid a courtesy call on Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman at the latter's office in the capital's Bashundhara this morning.

Deputy Head of Mission at the Danish Embassy Anders B. Carlsen accompanied the envoy during the meeting.

The ambassador inquired about the health of the Jamaat Ameer and wished him a speedy recovery.

During the discussion, the upcoming national election in Bangladesh was termed highly significant. 

The Jamaat side expressed hope for Denmark's continued support and technical assistance to ensure that the election is held in a free, fair and acceptable manner.

Constructive dialogue was also held on strengthening sustainable democracy and ensuring the independence of democratic institutions in Bangladesh.

Both parties expressed optimism that bilateral trade, investment, and economic cooperation between Bangladesh and Denmark will see further growth in the coming days.

Jamaat leaders Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair, Assistant Secretary General and head of the party's central publicity and media wing and Professor Dr Mahmudul Hasan, Foreign Affairs Adviser to the Ameer, were also present during the meeting.
