CHATTOGRAM, Oct 8, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD)-backed panel today unveiled its eight-point manifesto ahead of the upcoming Chattogram University Central Students' Union (CUCSU) elections, scheduled for October 15.
The manifesto was announced at a press briefing held at 3:00 pm in front of "Buddijibi Chattar" on the campus. Vice-President (VP) candidate Sazzad Hossain Hridoy presented the panel's commitments.
The pledges focus on creating a modern, student-friendly campus with emphasis on education and research; ensuring quality food and housing; providing student security and legal assistance; fostering a safe environment for female students and promoting women's health; improving transportation; offering quality healthcare and a healthy environment; enhancing literary, cultural, sports, and recreational activities; and supporting career development and employment opportunities.
VP candidate Hridoy said that the JCD, which had secured the majority of positions in previous CUCSU polls, has consistently campaigned for the return of this democratic process. "The long-awaited moment has finally come," he said.
He added that JCD has been working against fascism to ensure a secure, inclusive, student-friendly, and internationally recognized academic environment.
The eight-point manifesto reflects students' aspirations, and the panel is committed to implementing these promises, he added.
General Secretary (GS) candidate Shafayat Hossain, Assistant General Secretary (AGS) candidate Ayubur Rahman Toufiq, other panel members, and Chhatra Dal leaders were present at the press conference.
