DHAKA, Oct 7, 2025 (BSS) - Islami Andolan Bangladesh (IAB) Amir Mufti Syed Md Rezaul Karim, Charmonai Pir, termed the brutal murder of Abrar Fahad as a "dark chapter" in the country's terrible politics.

"The existing political trends must change to prevent recurrence of incidents like Abrar's murder. A new settlement of politics must be developed here," he said in a statement on the occasion of the sixth martyrdom anniversary of BUET student Abrar Fahad today.

Citing the brutality as an example of how naked and ruthless Indian hegemony was pressing upon Bangladesh, the IAB chief said a paradigm of unprincipled self-interest had grown at that time in the name of politics.

He added, "I pray that Allah may grant Jannat to Abrar Fahad and convey my profound condolences to his parents, family, and friends. At the same time, I promise to develop positive pro-Bangladesh politics and culture to avenge the blood of Abrar."

Charmonai Pir said those who killed Abrar were also meritorious students of BUET. But the politics of the old settlement and the Awami League must take responsibility for turning those talented boys into murderers.

"That evil politics has pushed thousands of our children towards unwanted deaths. It has turned thousands of children into murderers," Mufti Rezaul added.

Demanding justice regarding the Awami League, Charmonai Pir said that if their role in Abrar's murder is properly brought to justice, then the party should be banned as a terrorist organization. "They have turned talented youth into ruthless killers," he said.

The IAB Amir added, "After the July Mass Uprising, the Awami League cannot be given a chance anymore. Let this be our collective pledge today."
