CUMILLA, Sept 28, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) today
distributed gifts among the Sanatani people in Cumilla following the
Sharadiya Durga Puja celebration.
The gift distribution event was held at Raj Rajeshwari Kalibari temple in
Monoharpur here. Alongside this central event, cash money and gifts were
distributed at 131 puja mandaps on behalf of BNP.
BNP Chairperson's Adviser Haji Amin-ur-Rashid Yasin attended the event as the
chief guest with Convener of Bangladesh Puja Celebration Front, Cumilla
Metropolitan Shyamal Krishna Saha in the Chair.
General Secretary of Cumilla Metropolitan BNP Yusuf Molla Tipu joined the
event as special guest.
Speaking at the event, Haji Amin-ur-Rashid Yasin said, "Members of the Hindu
community often refer to themselves as a minority. However, in reality, they
are not minorities. They are citizens of this country, sons and daughters of
this soil. There shouldn't be any discrimination in our society."
Urging communal unity among the communities, he said, "All who took birth on
this land are the people of this land and all are equal."
Member secretary of Bangladesh Puja Celebration Front, Cumilla Metropolitan
Sanjit Debnath, its other leaders and members and local BNP leaders spoke,
among others, during the gift distribution ceremony.
