DHAKA, Sept 26, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi today said if any party gets favor in the upcoming national parliamentary election, the people of the country will not tolerate it.

“Especially after the controversial DUCSU-JUCSU elections, the public are in intense fear over whether the upcoming national election is heading toward a predetermined outcome. If a blueprint is made to ensure the victory of any particular party or group in the national election, the people of the country will in no way spare them,” he said.

Rizvi made the remarks while speaking at an event organized to offer prayers for the recovery of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and to mark the death anniversary of the Chairperson's Adviser Kazi Asaduzzaman Asad in Mirpur.

Regarding the DUCSU (Dhaka University Central Students' Union) election, Rizvi said, "There is no controversy over the fact that a DUCSU election was held, but we have serious objections to the method used."

He directly alleged that the Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) conducted the election without ensuring equal opportunity for all.

Expressing his indignation, the senior BNP leader questioned, “Why were the ballots printed in Nilkhet? Was this DUCSU election held for the benefit of a particular party or group?”

“The interim government should have investigated these serious matters. If such incidents continue, it is natural to question whether the upcoming national election will also produce a purposeful outcome,” he added.

Rizvi said, "In the past, Sheikh Hasina sought to establish her reign and tried to ensure the victory of certain individuals by burying free and fair elections underground."

BNP Standing Committee member Begum Selima Rahman in her speech criticized various issues. She said, “Continuous conspiracies are being hatched against BNP. We have to remain united to resist these conspiracies.”

Selima Rahman also alleged that Sheikh Hasina has destroyed all of the country's institutions, the consequences of which the public are now suffering.

Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal General Secretary Nsair Uddin, among others party leaders and activists, spoke at the event.
