People's government will be established thru people's vote: Afroza Abbas

SATKHIRA, Sept 18, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal President Afroza Abbas today urged the people to cast their votes as per their own preference.

“In 2018, I myself was a candidate, when I went to the polling station; I saw that my vote had been cast. In which country do we live, even though I was a candidate, my vote had been cast, I could not cast my vote,” she said.

He was addressing as the chief guest a women's rally organized by the Upazila Mohila Dal at the Kumira High School ground under Tala Upazila in the district this afternoon.

She said they want to establish the people's government to re-establish democracy. 

In his speech, BNP Publication Affairs Secretary and former MP Habibul Islam Habib announced that Patkelghata would be made an upazila if he is elected in the next national elections in response to the demands of the people. 

He said that earlier when he was an MP in this area, Patkelghata was made a thana. He also said that he had done numerous development works. 

Tala Upazila Mohila Dal convener Meherun Nesa Mini presided over the rally and Satkhira District BNP convener Rahmatullah Palash spoke as the main speaker.

Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal’s Khulna Divisional Team Leader and former MP Newaz Halima Ali, District BNP Member Secretary Abu Zahid Dablu, Senior Joint Convener Abul Hasan Hadi, Tala Upazila BNP former President Mrinal Kanti Roy, former General Secretary Principal Shafiqul Islam, former Vice President Sheikh Golam Mostafa, District Mohila Dal President Farida Akhter Beauty and Organizing Secretary Saleha Haque Keya, among others, also spoke.
