Cover of English, Arabic versions of 12-volume book on martyrs unveiled

DHAKA, Aug 1, 2025 (BSS) - A seminar titled “July 24 Mass Uprising: Expectations, Achievements and Actions” was held at the Jatiya Press Club auditorium today at the initiative of Jamaat-e-Islami.

Cover of English and Arabic versions of a book 'Martyrs and Injured of the 2nd Independence' was also unveiled on the occasion, said a press release.

Website containing information on martyrs' memento was launched formally.  

A documentary on the collection of information for the book 'Martyrs and Injured of the 2nd Independence' was screened in the programme. 

The main article was presented by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Parwar with Jamaat-e-Islami Nayeb-e-Ameer and former MP Professor Mujibur Rahman in the chair.

Prof Mujibur Rahman said, “After achieving independence for the first time in 1971, we have become independent for the second time in July-August 2024.” 

“We will have to fight for independence for the third time to end the slavery of man over man and establish the slavery of Allah. The law of Allah must be passed in the National Parliament. The liberation of people will not come with any ideology written by man. For this, the law of Allah must be introduced in this country,” he said.

Presidium Member of Islami Andolan Bangladesh Ashraf Ali Akon, Chief Organizer of National Citizen Party (NCP) Nasir Uddin Patwary, Assistant Secretary General of Jamaat Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan and former MP Dr. Hamidur Rahman Azad, Ameer of Jamaat's Dhaka Metropolitan South Nurul Islam Bulbul and Ameer of North Selim Uddin, President of Bangladesh Lawyers Council Advocate Jasim Uddin Sarkar, Gano Odhikar Parishad spokesperson Faruk Hasan, Dainik Sangram editor Azam Mir Shahidul Ahsan, Lt. Col. (retd) Hasinur Rahman, Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir central president Zahidul Islam and Dhaka University president S. M. Farhad, among others, also spoke.
