TANGAIL, July 22, 2025 (BSS) - Humaira and Tanvir, students of Milestone School and College in Uttara, were laid to eternal rest in Sakhipur and Mirzapur upazilas of the district today.
Mehnaz Akhter Humaira and Tanvir Ahmed were killed after Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) FT-7 BGI fighter aircraft crashed into a building of Milestone School and College in the capital's Uttara area on Monday afternoon.
Mehnaz Akhter Humaira, was a class-three student and daughter of Delwar Hossain, a lecturer of Bangla department of Milestone School and College and resident of Hatya Keranipara in Sakhipur upazila and Tanvir Ahmed, a student of class eight and son of Rubel Mia of Nagarbhatgram village in Warsi union of Mirzapur upazila.
Humaira was buried at the Hatya Keranipara community graveyard after a namaz-e-janaza on Hatya Keranipara Government Primary School grounds in Sakhipur at 9 am.
Nasir Sikder, uncle of the deceased Humaira, said that Humaira's body was brought to Sakhipur from Dhaka last night.
Sakhipur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Abdullah Al Roni, along with political parties, social and professional organizations, participated in the janaza.
On the other hand, Tanvir was buried at Andipara Community graveyard after a namaz-e-janaza on Andipara Madrasa ground in Mirzapur upazila at 10 am.
Tanvir Ahmed was the eldest son of Rubel Ahmed of Nayapara village, Nagar Bhatgram, Mirzapur upazila. Tanvir grew up in Dhaka as his father has moved to Dhaka for business purposes.
Rubel Mia said like every day, his two sons went to school on the fateful day. The younger one returned home from school at 12 noon. However, Tanvir stayed at school for coaching classes.
Earlier, Tanvir's body reached his village home last night.
Mirzapur Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) ABM Ariful Islam said they are all shocked at the incident. The upazila administration will provide all possible support to the family.
