2 fire fighters injured during rescue operation in Uttara

DHAKA, July 21, 2025 (BSS)- Two fire fighters suffered injuries while taking part in the rescue operations in Uttara following a aircraft crash on a school building, leaving at least 20 killed and 171 injured. 

The injured fire fighters are- Md. Sohag Mia and Md. Asif Ahmed Nabin. Both of them were stationed at Uttara Fire Station

Sohag and Asif were undergoing treatment at Combined Military Hospital (CHM), Dhaka and Bangladesh Medical, Uttara respectively.

However, both of the injured fire fighters are out of danger," said fire service media cell officer Shajahan Sikder.

The Fire Service and Civil Defence wrapped up the rescue operation at 8:30pm after recovery of the bodies and rescuing the injured people.

At least 20 people including the pilot were killed and 171 injured, said the ISPR press release.
