NARSINGDI, July 18, 2025 (BSS)- BNP Standing Committee member Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan has said evil efforts are underway to create anarchy to destroy democracy.
“Different evil forces are working in different ways to create anarchy. So, everybody should remain alert,” he told a discussion in memory of July martyrs at Momen Khan Square in Panchdona here today.
Palash Upazila BNP President Abdus Salam presided over the discussion organized by Palash Upazila BNP and its affiliated organizations.
Moyeen Khan said, “Our struggle is not over yet. The first step of the struggle was to overthrow the authoritarian government. We have completed that. But we are yet to reorganize Bangladesh under a democratic system. There are more challenges ahead that we have to face.”
Stating that the July uprising was to bring back democracy in this country, the BNP leader hoped the voters of the country will elect representatives in parliament through fair elections.
He said Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman gave the people of this country a multi-party democracy instead of a one-party rule after November 7. BNP does not do politics for power. This has been proven time and again, added.
The BNP leader said, BNP will provide all support to the interim government to arrange a fair and impartial election.
“The main responsibility of the government is to return democracy to the people of the country as soon as possible,” he said.
Later, Moin Khan handed over financial assistance to the families of July martyrs and injured persons of July uprising.
Families of martyred Tahmid, Emon, Amzad Hossain, Ashiqul Islam Rabbi, Hasan Nia, Kazi Abdur Rahman, Arman Molla and injured persons of July uprising Aliullah, Tanvir Molla, Asif Mahmud Bhuiyan received the assistance.
