RAJBARI, July 17, 2025 (BSS) - National Citizens Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam today said Awami League is not a political party but a ‘terrorist organization’, alleging that it is responsible for enforced disappearances, killings, and widespread disorder in the country.

He emphasized the need to confront the Awami League not only legally but also politically.

Nahid Islam made the remark while addressing a rally as the chief guest at the Shaheed Muktijoddha Memorial Square here this afternoon.

Speaking at the rally, NCP’s Chief Organizer (Southern Region) Hasnat Abdullah said, “Yesterday in Gopalganj, the Awami League planned to kill Nahid, Khalid, Hasanat, Sarjis, and others, believing that eliminating them would end the NCP's movement.”

He alleged that Awami League had mobilized its armed forces from across the country for this purpose.

“We are entrusting you with the responsibility to keep the movement alive, even if we are perished,” he told the audience.

NCP’s Chief Organizer (Northern Region) Sarjis Alam said, “Bangladesh will only truly turn around when the Awami League will be eliminated from the country.”

Central leaders, including Khaled Saifullah and Dr. Tasnim Zara, among others, also spoke the rally.
