Two accused in Rocky murder case held in Madaripur

DHAKA, July 1, 2025 (BSS) - Police on Monday arrested two main accused in the 
Rocky murder case at the capital's Kamrangirchar Police Station from Kalkini 
Upazila of Madaripur district.
 
The arrested have been identified as Md. Abu Taleb Member, 37, and Md. Palash 
Khan, 33.
 
A team of Kamrangirchar Police Station of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) 
arrested the duo in a raid at Kalkini Upazila of Madaripur district at around 
5.30 pm on Monday.

Deputy Commissioner of Lalbagh Division police Mohammad Jasim Uddin made the 
disclosure today in a press briefing at DMP Media Centre on Minto Road here.
 
Earlier on June 23, 2025, the arrestees along with fugitive Abu Bakkar, Dulal 
Mia and two to three unidentified people stabbed the victim Rocky with sharp 
knives in front of the rickshaw garage in the Beribadh area of Ward No. 57 
under Kamrangirchar Police Station and fled the scene leaving him seriously 
injured.

After the incident, local people came to the scene and immediately took Rocky 
to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital for treatment. Rocky died on the way to 
the hospital.
 
Rocky's mother Razia Begum filed murder case with Kamrangirchar Police 
Station.
 
During the initial interrogation, the arrested individuals stated that they 
killed Rocky following previous enmity, Kamrangirchar police said.
 
The accused Rocky engaged in altercation with them as he demanded the money 
they took from a rickshaw puller following a complaint. The arrested persons 
who killed Rocky following the altercation.
 
The operation to recover the knife used in the murder and arrest other 
absconding persons involved in the murder is going on.
