SATKHIRA, June 15, 2025 (BSS) - The export-import activities at Satkhira's
Bhomra land port have resumed today after a 10-day shutdown due to Eid
holidays.
The operations of the port resumed in full swing from this morning.
General Secretary of Bhomra Land Port C&F Association Abu Hasan told BSS that
his association after a meeting with the C&F Agent Cargo Welfare Association
of Ghojadanga of India decided to suspend all sort of export-import
activities from June 5 to June 14 through this land port.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhomra Land Port Immigration Tufal Dulal Mandal
said though the import-export activities were suspended at that time but
movement of passport holders was as usual.
Abu Russell Azad, assistant revenue officer of Bhomra Land Port Customs
Station, said the export-import activities began this morning after 10 days
Eid vacation. Some 200 to 250 goods laden trucks used to cross the land port
every day, he said.
The port has been playing a very import role in exporting and importing goods
between Bangladesh and India and the government got revenue amounting to Taka
two to 2.5 crore from this port every day, the official added.
