Anti-fascist alliances of five parties hold emergency meeting

DHAKA, May 23, 2025 (BSS)- An emergency meeting of the top leaders of five anti-fascist parties was held in Dhaka following a call from Islami Andolan Bangladesh Amir Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim to discuss the country's ongoing political situation.

The meeting took place Thursday night at the central office of Islami Andolan in Purana Paltan of the city.

The leaders discussed the current political and overall situation of the country, urging all anti-fascist political forces to remain united at any cost. 

They also called for vigilance against any malicious groups that might try to undermine the nation's independence, sovereignty and stability.

Extensive discussions were held on developing a united nation-building strategy and maintaining peace and stability in the country.

The leaders unanimously agreed to provide full cooperation for holding a credible national election after necessary reforms under the leadership of Dr. Mohammad Yunus.

Dr. Mohammad Shafiqur Rahman, Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami also expressed his agreement on this matter via phone.

President of Gono Odhikar Parishad Nurul Haque Nur, Secretary General of Islami Andolan Principal Hafez Maulana Yunus Ahmed, Presidium Member of Islami Andolan Principal Maulana Syed Mosaddeq Billah Al Madani, Secretary General of AB Party Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad, Secretary General of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish Maulana Jalal Uddin Ahmed, Senior Joint Convener of NCP Ariful Islam Adib, Central Leader of AB Party Engineer Mohammad Lokman, Joint Convener of NCP Sarwar Tushar, Chief Coordinator of NCP Mohammad Saddam Hossain and Higher Council Member of Gono Odhikar Parishad Abu Hanif were present in the event.
