DHAKA, May 13, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has taken responsibility for the treatment of 30-year-old Enam Siddique, who was seriously injured during the July-August mass uprising.
As per the directive of the BNP Acting Chairman, the party's Vice Chairman Professor Nargis Begum and Organizing Secretary for Khulna Division Anindya Islam Amit visited Enam Siddique's residence located at Enayetpur in Jashore district today.
On behalf of Tarique Rahman, the leaders handed over financial assistance to Enam Siddique.
Enam Siddique said he was shot in the head by police during a protest in the capital's Uttara area on August 4 last year.
After receiving treatment in Dhaka for several days, his family was compelled to bring him back to Jashore due to financial constraints.
Doctors have already stated that he will never fully recover. In this situation, Tarique Rahman and the BNP have extended their support to him.
Enam Siddique expressed heartfelt gratitude to Tarique Rahman for his generosity and for standing beside him during this critical time.
He acknowledged the support, saying it had encouraged him and given him strength and a ray of hope in such a difficult period.
