LAKSHIMPUR, May 11, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee today said BNP's main aim is to establish a national unity government in line with the party’s 31-point charter.

He said, "BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia established  multi-party democracy, moving away from one-party rule in the country. BNP is undertaking a reform process based on the 31-point state reform agenda. The  party is working internally on the issue.” 

He made these remarks today while visiting the ward-level BNP leadership election activities at Ahmadia Madrasa field in Hajipara Jatrapur under Sadar upazila of the district.

Highlighting the necessity of holding the national parliamentary elections and undertaking reform works, the BNP leader said, "People have been deprived of their voting rights for a long time as such preparations are being made for holding the upcoming elections.”

To this end, the BNP and its affiliated organizations are electing grassroots leaders at the ward level through direct ballot paper voting to build a more dynamic and robust organization, he added. 

Similarly, elections will be held at the union, upazila and district levels using ballot papers. 

This process will ensure that dedicated workers are valued and capable leaders are elected. However, everyone must work in unity; we need to be further organized, said Anee.
