CHATTOGRAM, May 3, 2025 (BSS) - A Bangladesh Biman flight left today for holy
city of Medina in Saudi Arabia from Chattogram Shah Amanat International
Airport (CSAIA) here carrying 419 hajj pilgrims.
It was the maiden hajj flight from CSAIA among a total of 17 hajj flights
scheduled to operate through Chattogram airport in this year's hajj season,
says CSAIA director Group Captain Sheikh Abdullah Alamgir.
Of the 17 flights, 14 flights will leave CSAIA for Jeddah while 3 for Medina.
Today's Biman flight Boeing-777 numbering BG-137 on broad 419 pilgrims left
Chattogram for Medina at 5:40 pm.
City Mayor Dr Shahadat Hossen was the chief guest at a brief function on
occasion of inaugurating hajj flight operations from Ctg.
CSAIA director Group Captain Sheikh Abdullah Alamgir, district manager of
Bangladesh Biman Al Mamun Faruk, Hajj Association of Bangladesh ( HAB) Ctg
Zone chairman Shariat Ullah Shahid, secretary Abdul Malek , ATAB Ctg zone
chairman Mohammad Abu Zafar and secretary Md Idrish Meah were present at the
function.
CSAIA officials said a total of 6,618 hajj pilgrims will leave for Saudi
Arabia through CSAIA this hajj season.
