DHAKA, May 1, 2025 (BSS) – The costume ‘Dhanmanab' of Yunus Hawlader, a rickshaw puller, has attracted special attention at BNP’s Labour Day rally held in front of its central office at Nayapaltan in the city.

The event, titled "Workers' Rally", has been organised by the Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal. It began around 2pm with a recitation from the Holy Quran.

People from various professions participated in the rally throughout the day.

After the fall of fascist Hasina, leaders and activists have been seen participating in every BNP rally with great enthusiasm. This was no exception in the case of today's workers' rally.

The leaders and activists have come with colorful caps, T-shirts, banners and drums. However, ‘Dhanmanab' Yunus Hawlader has particularly attracted attention at the workers' rally.

Yunus Hawlader, a resident of Dumki upazila under Patuakhali district and also publicity secretary of Shyamnagar Thana Sramik Dal, today covered his whole body with sheaf of paddy, election symbol of BNP.

Talking to BSS, Yunus Hawlader said that he has taken the costume out of love for BNP.

“I have been doing BNP politics for a long time. At one time, due to politics, I had to leave Dhaka. Even when I went to my village, locals did not let me live in peace,” he added.

He said he had to stay many nights in the paddy fields in fear of arrest. To manifest his love for BNP he came up in the rally wearing the costume made of paddy sheaf.
