DHAKA, Feb 25, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today imposed a travel embargo on NRB Commercial (NRBC) Bank's former chairman Engineer Farasath Ali and its former director Sarwar Zaman Chowdhury over graft allegations.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order, allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The ACC in its plea said it has already formed a three-man committee to probe allegations of embezzling millions of Taka of the bank by producing fake bills and vouchers, running illegal Hundi business, loan irregularities and money laundering against Farasath and Sarwar.

"The duo is trying to flee the country to evade justice. A travel ban should be imposed on them for the sake of proper investigation," the plea added.
