DHAKA, Dec 19, 2025 (BSS) – A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight carrying the body of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi departed Singapore today for Dhaka, as the nation prepares to receive the slain youth leader amid widespread mourning.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines Flight BG 585 took off from Singapore Changi International Airport at 4:03pm local time (2:03pm Dhaka time) en route to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) with the body of Sharif Osman Hadi on board, expected to be landed at 5:50pm.

“Our Flight BG 585 took off Singapore at 2:03pm (Dhaka time) and is expected to land here at around 5:50pm carrying the body of Sharif Osman Hadi,” Biman’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Dr Md Shafiqur Rahman told BSS this afternoon.

He said Biman had taken all necessary measures to ensure the smooth and dignified repatriation of the body of the martyred leader.

Sharif Osman Hadi passed away while undergoing treatment at Singapore General Hospital, triggering deep grief across political circles, activists of Inqilab Mancha and the general public.

In a Facebook post, Inqilab Mancha said that Allah has accepted the great revolutionary Osman Hadi as a martyr in the struggle against Indian hegemony.

The organisation also announced that a janaza will be held in Bangladesh on Saturday after Zuhr prayers at Manik Mia Avenue.

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has declared a one-day state mourning on Saturday following the tragic death of Sharif Osman Hadi.

Hadi sustained a critical head injury after being shot by assailants on December 12 while campaigning in Purana Paltan in the capital.

After receiving initial treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital and Evercare Hospital, he was airlifted to Singapore by air ambulance on December 15 for advanced medical treatment, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
