DHAKA, May 10, 2026 (BSS) - Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has sent gifts to a newlywed couple a day after making a surprise appearance at their wedding ceremony in the city by surprising the guests present there.

On behalf of the Prime Minister, his Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman delivered the gifts to the newlywed couple's residence in Gulshan here today, according to the Prime Minister's Press Wing. At that time, he also conveyed the Prime Minister's greetings to them.

The newlywed couple and their family members were impressed by such a sincere gesture from the Prime Minister. They expressed their gratitude to the Prime Minister.

On Saturday, after a daylong views-exchange meeting of BNP at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB) in the city, the Prime Minister suddenly appeared at a wedding ceremony there. His unexpected presence created excitement among the guests present at the event.

When Tarique Rahman arrived at the wedding ceremony, the groom had not yet reached the venue. The Prime Minister exchanged greetings with the bride and family members. The family of the newlywed couple expressed joy after receiving the gifts today.

Such presence of the Prime Minister at social functions despite his state responsibilities and busy schedule has created positive discussion among general people. The newlywed couple observed it as a unique example of the Prime Minister staying connected with the people.
