Light to moderate rain likely

DHAKA, Aug 2, 2021 (BSS) – Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at different places of the country, a met release said today.

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Sylhet and Chattogram divisions and at a few places over Dhaka, Barishal and Khulna divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at some places over the country, it said.

Day and night temperature may fall slightly over the country.

The well-marked low persists over Uttar Pradesh and adjoining area. The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajsthan, Hariyana, centre of the well-marked low, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across northern part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay.

Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.

Country’s maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded 34.5 degrees Celsius at Srimangal and minimum temperature today was recorded 24.2 degrees Celsius at Sayedpur.

Maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6:00am today was recorded 173 millimeters (mm) at Sayedpur.

Today’s sunset at 6.41 PM and tomorrow’s sunrise at 5.29 AM at Dhaka.
