DHAKA , 29 July, 2021 (BSS) - The Ministry of Shipping has formed a four-member probe committee on July 27 to investigate into the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation's (BIWTC) 'Ferry Shahjalal' accident.

 Dr. Rafiqul Islam Khan, Joint Secretary (Development) of the Ministry of Shipping was made the committee convener, said a release.

The other members of the committee are: Engineer and Ship Surveyor of the Department of Shipping Md. Sirajul Islam, Director (Finance) of BIWTC Shahinur Bhuiyan and BIWTA Director (Naval Conservation and Management) Md Shahjahan.

The committee has been asked to submit a report with recommendations to the Shipping Secretary within 10 days.
