DHAKA, July 23, 2021 (BSS) - Police today arrested 403 people from
the capital on the first day of 14-days long strict lockdown imposed
by the government to contain spread of corona virus infections.

  Additional Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP)
Iftekharul Islam confirmed it to the news agency.

   "Police arrested 403 persons from the capital under different
police stations for roaming unnecessarily," said the DMP official.

  The mobile courts have imposed fine on 203 people and realized Taka
1,27,270. DMP's traffic division realised a fine of over Taka 10 lakh
from 441 vehicles today.

   The government has enforced nation-wide strict restrictions till
August 5 with an instructions of travelling curb and shut down of all
offices, mass transports, shops and industries to contain novel
coronavirus infections.
