
DHAKA, July 23, 2021 (BSS) - To prevent the spread of coronavirus,
the government has asked the authorities of the country's all the
mosques and other places of worship to abide by its conditions in
offering prayers in congregations (Jamaat).
   The Religious Affairs Ministry issued a notification today that
will remain effective from July 23 to August 5 next.
   According to the government's condition imposed from today, hand
sanitizer or hand-washing arrangement with soapy water must be put on
the gates of all the mosques, and all devotees should wear masks
before entering the mosques.
   The Muslim devotees have been asked to offer sunnah prayers at
home. After ablution from their respective homes, they are requested
to come to the mosques. All the devotees are urged to wash their hands
for at least 20 minutes during their ablutions.
   Carpet could not be rolled on the mosques for prayers, while the
devotees are asked to bring prayers-mats from their homes. The mosques
must be cleaned up through disinfectant water after every prayer.
   Social distancing must be maintained while offering prayers.
Children, elderly and sick people, and those who take care of patients
must refrain from offering prayers in jamaat.
   To prevent the spread of coronavirus, soaps or hand-sanitizers must
be put in ablution points of mosques and the prayers-mats and caps put
in mosques could not be used.
   The instructions of the Cabinet Division, the Health Services
Division, local administrations and the law enforcing agencies must be
followed to this end.
   The devotees have been asked to offer special doa after prayers,
seeking relief from coronavirus pandemic.
   The khatibs, imams and managing committees of the mosques will
ensure implementation of the conditions to help contain the spread of
coronavirus.
  The devotees of other religions must wear masks, use hand sanitisers
and other health guidelines before entering their respective places of
worship.
   If anyone violates the conditions, the local administration and law
enforcement agencies will take legal action against his or her, the
notification said.
