MUNSHIGANJ, July 23, 2021 (BSS) – At least 20 people boarded on a ro-ro ferry were injured as the ferry hit a pillar of Padma Multiple Bridge here this morning.

The ro-ro Shahjalal ferry hit No-17 pillar of bridge at around 9:30 am when it was heading towards Shimulia Ghat from Bangla Bazar in Madaripur.

The injured people were admitted to nearby hospitals.

Around 2000 people and 33 vehicles were on the ferry during the accident, said Assistant General Manager of BIWTC Shafiqul Islam.
