800 cows reach Dhaka by special cattle train

 

DHAKA, July 18, 2021 (BSS)- On the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, 800 cows have arrived in Dhaka on the 'Cattle Special Train' service.

On the Cattle Special Train, 97 cows in 9 wagons from Chapainawabganj and Rajshahi reached Kamalapur Railway Station at 8:05 am today, said a press release.

The income from train rent is Tk 68380.

Besides, a total of 706 cows and 20 goats, including 400 cows in 25 wagons from Islampur Bazar station of Jamalpur and 306 cows in 21 wagons from Dewanganj Bazar, arrived in Dhaka's Kamalapur railway station by 11:30 am today.

The rent of these two special trains is Tk 3.67 lakh.

Another special train with 80 cows from Chapainawabganj is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka today, said the release.

The Bangladesh Railway has launched "Cattle Special Train" service for transporting animals from different parts of the country to facilitate the transportation of sacrificial animals.
