DHAKA, July 16, 2021 (BSS) - Dr Abdul Matin, professor emeritus of Dhaka University's philosophy department died of Covid -19 today.

He was 87.

He breathed his last today around 6 am at a private hospital in the capital, Chairman of philosophy department Dr AKM Haroonar Rashid told BSS.

The veteran philosopher left behind his wife, two sons, relatives and a host of admirers and well-wishers to mourn his death.

Professor Matin was buried after Namaz-e-Janaza at his hometown Bhaluka, Mymensingh.

Meanwhile, Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman, in a condolence message, expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of the veteran professor.
 
Akhtaruzzaman prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family
