DHAKA, July 11, 2021 (BSS) – Textiles and Jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi today demanded compensation for the victims of Narayanganj factory fire.
He came up with the demand while a delegation of the ruling Awami League visited the fire spot at Rupganj in Narayanganj, a press release said.
The AL delegation included its organising secretary Mirza Azam, office secretary Barrister Biplab Barua, liberation war affairs secretary Mrinal Kanti Das, Nazrul Islam Babu, MP, and Narayangani AL president Abdul Hye.
Gazi warned that any person found responsible for the Sezan Juice factory fire would not be spared.
Noting that the deaths of the factory workers could not be tolerated, he said if anyone was involved in irregularities in the factory construction, he or she will be brought to justice.
The workers keep the pace of the country’s economy smooth, the minister said, adding that the district administration has already stood by the fire victims.
He said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is inquiring about the victims and their families.
A total of 52 people were killed at the Sezan Juice factory fire that broke out on Thursday.
