DHAKA, Sept 12, 2026, (BSS) - Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Houssain Kaikobad has said the power and gas sectors have been destroyed over the past 18 years.
"The government is working to rebuild the power and gas sectors from this rubble and bring them back to normal. The current crisis will be resolved soon," he said.
He made the remarks while addressing the opening ceremony of the "Month-long Islamic Book Fair-2026," organized by the Publications Department of the Islamic Foundation at the eastern premises of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque today on the occasion of Holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi (SAW) 1448 Hijri.
Expressing firm optimism, Kaikobad said that if the government is given the necessary time to work, Insha'Allah, the current situation will not persist. All the crises facing the country can be resolved by working patiently on the right path with full faith in Almighty Allah and by giving the government time and cooperation, he added.
He said the month-long Islamic book fair would play a special role in promoting Islamic knowledge, reading habits and moral values among the general people.
Referring to the life and teachings of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), the Religious Affairs Minister said, "The fair has been organized with the aim of spreading among all the people the noble life and ideals of the Prophet (PBUH) and the peaceful and welfare-oriented message of Islam."
