DMP files 3,952 cases for traffic law violations in city 

DHAKA, Sept 12, 2026 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan 
Police (DMP) has filed 3,952 cases against traffic law violators during the 
last two days in the capital.

According to a DMP media and public relations division press release issued 
here today, a total of 842 vehicles were dumped and 504 vehicles were towed 
during the drives. 

The Traffic-Ramna Division filed 181 cases, including 11 against buses, one 
truck, nine covered vans, 19 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 58 motorcycles, the 
DMP spokesperson said.
 
Besides, the Traffic-Lalbagh Division filed 215 cases, including 12 against 
buses, 19 trucks, two covered vans, 15 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 123 
motorcycles while the Traffic-Motijheel Division filed 520 cases, including 
35 against buses, six trucks, 17 covered vans and 63 CNG-run auto-rickshaws 
and 297 motorcycles, he said.

In addition, the Traffic-Wari Division filed 447 cases, including 32 against 
buses, 39 trucks, 34 covered vans, 47 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 186 
motorcycles while the Traffic-Tejgaon Division filed 283 cases, including 10 
against buses, six trucks, 11 covered vans, 43 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 136 
motorcycles.

Apart from this, the Traffic-Mirpur Division filed 919 cases, including 70 
against buses, 49 trucks, 73 covered vans, 98 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 417 
motorcycles while the Traffic-Uttara Division filed 929 cases, including 79 
against buses, 33 trucks, 26 covered vans, 95 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 404 
motorcycles, it said.

Meanwhile, the Traffic-Gulshan Division filed 458 cases, including 60 against 
buses, eight trucks, 20 covered vans, 52 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 155 
motorcycles, the spokesperson added.

According to the press release, the DMP's traffic enforcement drives would 
continue across the capital to ensure traffic discipline.
