DHAKA, Sep 12, 2026 (BSS)- Seven more children died with measles symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours, taking the number of deaths from confirmed measles and measles symptoms to 1,019 from March 15 to September 12.

The information was disclosed in a press release issued today by the control room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

It said 816 suspected measles cases were reported in the past 24 hours, while the number of suspected measles cases stood at 170,638 from March 15 to September 12.

The number of confirmed measles cases was 39 in the past 24 hours, while the total number of confirmed cases reached 20,006 since March 15.

From March 15 to September 12, a total of 150,202 patients with suspected measles were admitted to hospitals. 

During the same period, 144,485 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals.

Seven children died with suspected measles in the past 24 hours, while a total of 919 children have died from suspected measles since March 15.
 
Since March 15, a total of 100 people has died from confirmed measles.
