DHAKA, Sep 10, 2026 (BSS) - Seven more children died with measles symptoms across the country in the last 24 hours staring at 8 am on Wednesday, raising the number of deaths from confirmed measles and measles symptoms to 1,009 since March 15.
Seven children died with suspected measles in the last 24 hours raising the total number of death to 909 from suspected measles since March 15, said a press release issued by the control room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) here today.
No one died from confirmed measles in the last 24 hours, it said, adding, a total of 100 children have died from confirmed measles from March 15 to September 10.
According to the release, 1,165 suspected measles cases were reported in the last 24 hours, while the number of suspected cases stood at 168,745 from March 15 to September 10.
The number of confirmed measles cases was 29 in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 19,933 since March 15.
From March 15 to September 10, a total of 148,505 patients with suspected measles were admitted to hospitals. During the same period, 142,888 patients were discharged from hospitals.
