RAJSHAHI, Sept 2, 2026 (BSS) – Nepali students studying at the University of Rajshahi (RU)   requested the university authorities to introduce a scholarship called the Disaster Scholarship Scheme at RU. 

They came up with the proposal during a meeting with Vice-Chancellor Professor Faridul Islam in the conference room of the administration building this noon.

 The students informed the Vice-Chancellor about the extent of damage caused by the recent natural disaster in Nepal.

The Vice-Chancellor expressed grief and condolences over this terrible loss.

Welcoming the proposal,  Professor Faridul Islam said that necessary measures will be taken to launch the scholarship subject to receiving funds from the appropriate authorities.

Student Advisor Professor A H M Khurshid Alam, Administrator of the Public Relations Office S M Kamruzzaman, Warden of Shaheed Mir Abdul Quayyum International Dormitory Professor Md. Abu Bakar Prang, among others, were present at the meeting.
