BRUR holds training workshop on 'Internet and Emailing'

RANGPUR, Sept 2, 2026 (BSS) - A daylong training workshop titled "Training Session on Internet and Emailing" was held at Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) on Tuesday to enhance the skills and capacity of students in higher education.

The event was organized by the Scholarship Support Office in the virtual classroom of the Computer Science and Engineering Department of the university's Academic Building-2.

Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Dr Md Showkat Ali was present as the chief guest at the training workshop.

In his speech, the chief guest said that the current world is dependent on information technology. 

"For students to survive in international competition in higher education and research, it is necessary to be proficient in the Internet, proper email communication and digital information management," he said.

He said that proper guidance is very important in obtaining scholarships for higher education, finding funding and establishing contact with teachers of foreign universities. 

He emphasized the importance of students' digital skills to build BRUR as a quality and international standard modern educational institution.

The event was addressed as special guests by the University's Proctor and Registrar (Acting) Professor Dr Md Ferdous Rahman and Director of the Office of the Students' Affairs Professor Dr Md Elias Pramanik.

In this workshop, preparations for going abroad for higher education, arranging necessary documents, searching for information related to professors and programme directories, sending professional emails to professors and various issues related to higher education scholarships or funding were discussed in detail.

Students from different departments of the university participated in the workshop.
